As is to be expected, unpacking the box that contains the Greenworks cordless stick vacuum, we discover an array of tools, chargers and accessories that appears to have been packed by a world-class Tetris champion.
First impressions indicate we are certainly not going to be short-changed when it comes to extensions and accessories.
We like to conduct our vacuum cleaner reviews by establishing how quickly we can go from unboxing to operating without resorting too often to the instruction manual.
How intuitive a vacuum cleaner set-up is can be a big plus point for us. We managed to get the vacuum into action within just 8 minutes, from unboxing to operation.
That's an excellent sign and indicates that despite the array of tools, add-ons and bits and pieces, getting to the heart of being able to start vacuuming did not require us to have an engineering degree!
The battery came with enough initial charge for us to do a mini-test with no problem.

Is the Greenworks 24v cordless stick vacuum any good?
What good would a vacuum cleaner review be if we didn't just get straight to the point: is it any good at vacuuming up pet hair from a range of surfaces and does the battery last long enough to allow us to clean the entire house without racing around?
The initial battery life, on a partial charge straight out of the box, lasted a little over 20 minutes. On a full charge, the battery gave us easily enough time to clean the entire home.
The battery life is around 45 minutes on a full charge, but be aware that this is on the lower power setting for the vacuum cleaner. If you use the higher power settings, expect the battery to drain considerably faster.
As mentioned frequently in our trusted vacuum cleaner reviews, our home environment provides a genuinely stiff challenge for any vacuum cleaner. Multiple pets, lots of hair. Lots of crevices and difficult-to-clean spots.
Battery life of the Greenworks 24v vacuum cleaner
You get up to 45 minutes of run time on the lowest of the three power settings. Medium power nets have about 17 minutes of run time and the highest power setting gives around 10 minutes of more intense cleaning.
Using the extra power mode button will use up the power pretty quickly, so having the other battery charged and ready to use is advisable. The charging for the battery is an impressive 30 minutes.
The cleaning abilities of the Greenworks stick vacuum are equally robust. As ever, with a brand new vacuum, we're getting to experience the cleaner at its best.
This means we expect top performance and we weren't disappointed here. Lots of dog and cat hair filled the bin and as you'd expect from a cordless stick vacuum, the cleaner is lightweight and convenient to operate.
The bin is a simple, albeit slightly small, affair. Easy to empty and take on and off.
The tools and attachments that come as standard with the Greenworks 24v cordless stick vacuum are an impressive array of additional features that mean you won't ever be stuck whether using the cleaner as an upright or a handheld.
As a handheld, the Greenworks 24v offers the extra power boost if you need it to really take care of the hard-to-reach crevices where pet hair loves to lurk.

At the time of our review, the Greenworks 24v stick vacuum is retailing on the Greenworks website for £349.99.
This price point puts in competition with other stick vacuums from more widely known brands such as Shark, Vax and the slightly pricier Dyson equivalent.
It performs the tasks well and the freestanding charging station, along with a battery that is compatible with other Greenworks products make this a vacuum that does indeed get the job done in a challenging, multi-pet-owning household.
