As another year draws to a close, we have been looking over some of the best dog products we've discovered, reviewed and shared with friends - and there have been a lot! It's been quite a year in the pet world.
Here are 5 of the best dog products we've discovered in 2018.
Best Dog Treats: Pet Munchies Buffalo Dental Chews
What makes them special: Made with 100% natural human- grade grass fed Buffalo. This healthy chew is infused with salmon oil which is good for skin and coat, and joint mobility.
Long lasting, they can help reduce tartar and plaque for healthy teeth and gums to support good oral health. Grain and gluten free. Low in fat, high in protein.
K9 Magazine says: “We hear about a lot of new dog treats, but what always stands out to us with Pet Munchies is the quality of natural ingredients.
“The new Buffalo Dental Chew tick all boxes. Our dogs, who vary in ages from 4-13 years old, all seriously enjoy them and it’s another flavour that Pet Munchies have knocked out of the park. It is for all of these reasons that we are pleased to once again include Pet Munchies for their innovation in our ‘Best Dog Products 2018’ awards.”
What makes it special: The George Barclay Hursley sofa bed has been produced using the finest quality upholstery fabric. A soft woven fabric adorns the bed’s sleep area, paired with side bolsters upholstered in contrasting faux leather.
The 3-sided design forms a cosy environment for your dog, whilst retaining easy access. Customers can select either a blended memory foam mattress or encapsulated pocket sprung mattress for their Hursley sofa bed.
K9 Magazine says: “We reviewed the Hursley Sofa Bed earlier this summer and it is the only bed we’ve reviewed so far to get a five star rating. The design is fantastic, the colour superb, the quality of stitching and fabrics second to none and all of our dogs loved it.
“For all of these reasons, we’re pleased to include the George Barclay Hursley Sofa Bed in our ‘Best Dog Products 2018’ awards.”
Best Dog Shampoo: WildWash Pro Conditioning Shampoo
What makes it special: The WildWash Pro Conditioning Shampoo is perfect for the winter months ahead. It’s natural, sulphate and paraben free formula of Manuka, Lavender and Aloe Vera will help keep the skin conditioned and supple and the hair silky and shining through the winter. It’s also super concentrated and very cost effective.
K9 Magazine says: “The ingredients which go into making this natural, cruelty-free shampoo are second to none. We also love the fact the company also has an eco-policy in a bid to encourage people to use less plastic.
“All of these things combined make WildWash stand out in the field and we are pleased to include their Pro Conditioning Shampoo in our ‘Best Dog Products 2018’ awards.”
What makes it special: The award-winning dog drying coat company has launched its own camouflage inspired range of Dogrobes, adding a distinctively different look to its popular collection.
But rather than dogs blending in with their surrounds, the stylish khaki collection is expected to prove a head-turning take on the popular Dogrobe. The copyrighted pattern, exclusive to Dogrobes, comes in the full range of sizes, and study it closely and you’ll even spot some canines subtly included within the design.
K9 Magazine says: “Having previously shared Dogrobes with a celebrity friend for review, we know that Dogrobes are much-loved and truly are the easy way to dry your dog at home after a bath or out and about after walks.
For its innovative and stylish design (yes, we noticed – and loved – the subtle paw prints), we are pleased to include their new camouflage design in our ‘Best Dog Products 2018’ awards.”
What makes it special: The Furbo Dog Camera is a treat tossing camera that can give peace of mind to dog owners when away from home. Never miss a moment, with alerts and notifications sent straight to your phone via the app.
Capture 1080p HD photos and videos and using the two-way audio, your dog will be able to hear your voice (and you theirs).
The Furbo will be on sale from the 12th till 23rd of December for only £129. It’s the perfect gift for your furry loved one.
K9 Magazine says: “We review a lot of technology for pets and while some elements run across some of the higher end pet treat cameras, quality of photos and videos captured and a two-way microphone, for example (something Bryan, pictured above and his owner, Ali Drew loved when they recently reviewed for us).
“What makes Furbo stand out in the field in our opinion is the fact that the alerts you receive on your phone via the app are finely tuned.
“So you know if your dog is barking, specifically, for example, rather than just a notification of movement in front of the camera. You can also get activity and people/motion alerts, but the barking alerts are something we’ve only seen on the Furbo and for owners looking to have a dog camera for peace of mind, this is crucial in our view.
“It’s for this reason that the Furbo dog camera gets a place in our ‘Best Dog Products 2018’ awards.”
