Kim Kardashian is an American stylist based in California and is the star of American reality series Keeping up with the Kardashians. She has spent most of her life around dogs and shared her views on canine companionship with K9 Magazine.

Tell us about your pets. Names, breeds and ages.

Well we have four family dogs, we have Dolce who’s a boy, he’s 5 years old and a Chihuahua, we have Gabanna who’s a 2 year old black Labrador girl, we have Bella, who’s a 6 month old Maltese and she’s the newest addition. And we have Butter, she’s 10 months old, her real name is Beatrice P Potter Butter Beans Beyonce, but Butter for short! I share Butter with my sister, Khloe, we went together to bring her home but because I travel so much she lives with Khloe.

When did your interest in pets/animals begin and how long have you been a pet owner?

We’ve always had dogs, my dad always loved pure breeds and wanted the best so he always had Dobermans when we were growing up. I think dogs are great to be around and such a valuable part of the family.

Alongside your family, you have a reality TV show, ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, which is currently showing on E! and into its second season, the show always looks like it really is an accurate portrayal of family life for you, when you first set out with the show, were their any particular myths you hoped the show would dispel?

I think there’s so many different stereotypes out there about me and about Hollywood kids, like we shop all day and party all night, so the show really does show us as we are. Like that we have jobs, we have two clothes stores, Dash and Smooch, which we run, so we have normal jobs.

A lot of the shots people see are of me and my sisters is when we’re out and about and I hope when people see the show, they get a different impression, the real impression of how our lives really are.

We’ve just finished filming the second series literally last night we wrapped it up, it’s a bonus 11th episode! When the show is out we obviously get a lot more visability, but now the second series is done, we have a little off time and then its back to it, looking after the stores and normal life!

Do you have a motto you live your life by?

I just think do whatever makes you happy, don’t conform to what others think you should be doing and of course family comes first!

Your own website recently relaunched with a blog written by you where you video answers to questions people send into you and you have a section called Gabanna’s Cabanna where Gabanna gives her take on life. What made you decide to go one step further than just a normal blog with the site?

The interaction side of the site was something I’d wanted to do for a while, people might see pictures of me from other places and I wanted to put my own pictures up with what they mean to me, like the real meaning behind was happening when they were taken. I think it’s the best way for me to express myself and I love reading all of the comments and questions people send in and I really do read everything!

I try and give answers to everything people send in. The questions I get are like ones my sisters ask and if I’ve lived through it, I’ll give my advice, I’m not saying that I know everything, but
